A question was broached to me on Facebook, “How do we move forward in our daily lives for the next 4 years without becoming overwhelmed, angry, frustrated...?” I would start by saying to create and keep a balance in your life. Along with the six simple suggestions in the photo above, there is the following information from the Tools for Transformation that you may find useful. As an example, if you're watching too much news and don't have enough time that is grounded in the other areas of life, there can be a tendency to become obsessive and fear-driven. When we are feeling "overwhelmed, angry and frustrated", it causes us to not think clearly. It's important to take the time to focus on areas of life that will assist in creating a perspective that will be in alignment with what we do want, not a focus on the excessive "problems" that we feel we have no control over. Further in the Facebook post my friend also said, ” The problem is, I don't watch the news. It's getting to the point that I hardly even get on Facebook because of all the negativity and hatred.” Here's the deal, if you can’t watch the news without getting all freaked out, don’t watch. Choose to be a center of calm, trust that divine right action is taking place, make sure that your life is in order, and keep focused on constructive action in your own life. Also, get updates on what is going on from people who will share accurate news in a more constructive manner that is centered in the possible solutions to the challenges we are facing. If you can watch the news, and do the following, then watch…consciously. ∞ Pay attention ∞ Watch various news sources ∞ For more information, talk with like-minded people you trust and who have a focus on solutions and constructive action Then, decide for yourself what your truth is. If there are circumstances going on that you feel need to be remedied, consider it a prayer request for our country/world, on what we need affirmative action on. When I say prayer request, that means whatever is going on, you don't recognize that as the be-all, end all, truth of the situation. ∞ You recognize that there is a higher power, whatever your belief is, and you connect with that source. ∞ You place your faith and attention on the highest and best happening. ∞ You consider it an opportunity to put your attention on the solutions. ∞ It’s an opening for you to focus on being calm and present to this moment… not the possible future or the challenging past. ∞ You go about the business of owning your truth/beliefs, regardless of what the news chaos is. ∞ You go about the business of owning ∞ You hold a place of conscious awareness. Too much of the time we get into fear of the possibilities. This can make us feel frozen, unable to do anything. We may feel as though we want to fight our way into a new outcome. Or, we may just want to run, take flight from the difficulties and disappear into addictions or other behaviors that are a distraction from the challenging emotions we may be feeling. To get beyond that freeze/flight/flight, find a way to be informed and take constructive action. Some suggestions for action: ∞ Choose a cause that you would like to champion (the environment/climate, social issues, healthcare, politics/policies, financial/banking system, human rights, etc… ∞ Find an online or in-person group associated with that cause or create your own, and be a part of a community that is focused on solutions and takes constructive action. ∞ Be of service/volunteer to an organization that needs help. ∞ Donate to organizations that promote, protect and support the well being of humankind. ∞ Take time for yourself to re-balance. Meditate, exercise, journal, rest and do things that inspire. ∞ Create a "bubble of immunity" from the negativity and hatred. Send out your love and light. ∞ Own your power to be a positive source of inspired change, that is focused on the best and highest happening for all humanity.
